A little about what we do...
After realizing that teen suicide had become ubiquitous, our Executive Director, Ibrahim Afzal, founded this organization to combat suicide and raise awareness of youth mental health challenges. It has since evolved to encompass other significant issues that will shape the lives of future generations.
What we do
Why join
Future Minds is an organization that aims to represent and empower student voices from across the state into one central organization to end the mental health/suicide crisis affecting the youth.
We provide young adults with education, advocacy, and community engagement to eliminate stigma, raise awareness, and prioritize emotional well-being.
We hope to provide an avenue for students to hone their leadership capabilities and give back to their community. Our main goal is to help as many people as possible, and if you think you're up for the challenge, consider joining.
Joining a student-led mental health organization offers a unique chance to contribute to high school well-being by destigmatizing mental health, enhancing empathy, and providing vital support. This involvement cultivates leadership, communication, and organizational skills while creating a meaningful impact on fellow students' lives. Collaborating with peers who share a passion for mental health advocacy provides valuable networking opportunities and diverse perspectives. Through workshops and events, members gain knowledge and skills to assist those in need, leaving a positive and lasting legacy of improved mental health within the high school community.
